Duterte Fires De Lima "Naghintay si De Lima na mamatay ako"

President Rodrigo Duterte has taken a potshot at opposition Senators Leila de Lima and Kiko Pangilinan for questioning his whereabouts at the time when he was resting.
Duterte accused De Lima, who is detained at Camp Crame over drug-related charges, of waiting for him to die.

“Si De Lima is only interested to hear my dying or death. She does not care if I live. Ang hinihintay lang niyan sabihin na namatay na si Duterte. Mag-ambak-ambak ‘yan doon sa selda niya,” he said in an interview after his visit to wounded soldiers in Cagayan de Oro City Tuesday (June 20).
Duterte also expressed doubt that Pangilinan, the Liberal Party’s president, was concerned about his health the entire time he was out of the public eye.

“Si Pangilinan also. What they really care if I die today or tomorrow? If I get sick or tired? Your only interest is to know where I am and whether or not I am dying or dead?” he said.
“Hindi ako bilib na concerned ka sa akin, Kiko. I should not bare all,” Duterte added.
The President did not have any public engagements from June 12 to 16, leading some politikos to speculate about the state of his health.

Pangilinan had urged MalacaƱang to disclose the state of Duterte’s health, saying the public should know the truth about his condition.

While MalacaƱang said Duterte took time off to rest, he said he had to travel somewhere without being noticed.

“I have my reasons in travelling incognito kasi I wanted to talk to people, maka-travel ako,” he said, adding that he “had a talk with somebody” while he wasn’t seen in public.
