The Philippine National Police (PNP) confirmed to the media that they recovered illegal substance inside the house of former Marawi City Mayor Omar Solitario Ali during the clearing operation on Friday, June 23, 2017.

Authorities recovered P10-million worth of illegal drugs from the house of the former Marawi City Mayor. According to authorities about two kilograms of crystal meth, locally known as shabu, were seized from the house of the former Mayor.

The former Marawi City Mayor Omar Solitario Ali, husband of veteran actress Alma Moreno, is one of the alleged member 125 personalities who were members of the Maute Group.

Omar Sali was previously tagged by Pres. Rody Duterte as one of the local government officials who was allegedly involved in the illegal drug trades in Mindanao.

The PNP also reported that the seized illegal drugs inside the house of the former Marawi City Mayor is among the items recovered by government troopers in Marawi City, which is still under siege, since May 23 by the combined forces of Maute Group, ASG and other local terrorists who pledged allegiance to ISIS.

The local terrorists groups in Mindanao entered the city of Marawi to defend international terrorist Isnilon Hapilon, the purported leader of the Islamic State's Southeast Asia branch who was the subject of an arrest warrant by the Philippine government.

Aside from the newly-confiscated P10-million worth of shabu inside the house of former Marawi City Mayor Omar Ali, last June 19, government troops seized 11 kilos of shabu, several high-powered firearms, and an ISIS flag inside a dismantled hideout of the Maute terrorists in Marawi City.

Last June 5, the Philippine Marines discovered P79 million in cash and checks in a house that served as the Maute group's machine gun outpost.
